The vision of the Brights movement is civic equality for persons who
have a naturalistic worldview. (Such persons should not be culturally
stifled or civically marginalized.) As citizens, they need to gain
social and civic acceptance in their spheres of influence and become
full participants in the broader cultural and political landscape where
they can be involved and help make decisions. The challenges of today's
world call for more citizens whose actions are grounded in the real
world and free of society's pervasive supernaturalism.
