Barry le Roux

We atheists know a lot about science and religion. Religion is not at fault per se. Religion has served a purpose in the past and religion will survive and thrive as long as there's  a market for it. Fundamentalist religions ought to be replaced by something more fulfilling which can be practiced in a more rational manner. I quite like the idea of Dr Edward de Bono's "A New Religion?" which is about how to live your life positively through Happiness, Humour, Help, Hope and Health. What drives me is not to crack down god worshipping religions because I think they are  false and in error,.......etc. But rather I like to  envisage and pursue a course of social activity which will be successful in replacing past "sell-by-date religions". Isn't it possible to perpetuate virtues, such as kindness, love, generosity, etc ,as well as , the practice of ethics without a god?
