The different Gods:
1. God is real 2. We
think God is real 3. We believe God is real. He
created you in His image: if you are white then He is white and if
you are Ethiopian then He is black with a snub nose – just imagine
if you were a horse? Now who created who? And He collects all the
accolades for the nice things and if He messes up, apologetics kicks
in, He then supposedly works in mysterious ways, i.o.w. He is being
excused or the Devil gets blamed. Poor Devil - doesn't even get an
opportunity to explain himself. 4. God is a metaphor
- a figure of speech – like when somebody says “God bless” –
actually meaning wishing you well. 5. God is not
anthropomorphic (not human-like) – it (He) is just part and parcel
of the universe/nature = pantheism 6. God initially
created the universe and then just packed up and let go = Deism.
7. Then there is just the existence without a creator God and
also no Nanny God = a-theism - we have now finally grown up
learned to make our own decisions and to take responsibility for
them; we have learned to help and assist each other (eg. abolish
slavery); we have learned to be kind to all things living (we
acquired empathy) as well as, we have learned to use and appreciate
and care for nature (our sustenance) and to use it responsibly. We
have finally come to realize that God helps those people who help
themselves. (Written by barryleroux)
